Anna has been a medium since she was a child, and efforts to hone her skills in communicating with spirits in Ann Arbor, Michigan paid off, even if it often left people looking askance. Anna eventually left the midwest where she felt herself an outcast. Now, in New York, and working as a substitute teacher, she gradually opens up to people about her other career as a medium.
The one glitch in an otherwise satisfying life is that her neighbor is a pianist who practices constantly, breaking Anna’s concentration and endangering her growing reputation as an authentic medium. Worse than that, the ghost of Mozart watches over the pianist, who has also recently relocated to New York to further his career. Mozart gets upset with Anna for being upset with the pianist, and he finally concludes that Anna and the pianist should be together romantically, thus complicating Anna’s life further.
Cameron’s novel has a fun plot and likeable protagonists. Recommended for chick lit and romance fans.
