Set in the Desi culture of New Jersey, Bantwal’s latest is a formula romance. Anjali is a widowed fashion designer who runs a boutique catering to the formalwear needs of Indian immigrants in New Jersey. Unfortunately, Anjali’s parents, who co-manage the boutique with her, have recently informed her that the shop is about to go under financially and that her uncle is coming from India to help them figure out a better business plan.
When Uncle Jeevan arrives, he not only brings along ideas and cash, but he also brings his protege, Rishi. Although Anjali is initially resistant to Rishi’s involvement and his advances, she eventually finds herself falling for him. The question is whether Anjali can get over her fear of loss and commit to a new relationship.
Recommended for romance readers and those who enjoy lighter Indian fiction.
